I am happy to report that after twenty-three years of rigorous searching, I’ve found the perfect Caesar (beverage, not salad).
It is made by a bartender named Chris. He has a beard and works at a bar in Toronto called Sweaty Betty’s.
The secret ingredient is a healthy shot or two of Guinness. Even served sans-garnish, it was the most delicious beverage I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Adding spicy beans or olives probably would have just blown my mind.
Beer and tomatoes, who knew? Calgary, apparently; the similar Red Eye beverage originates from Alberta. I’m also told this drink figures prominently in the 1988 Tom Cruise movie “Cocktail”. Tomato juice, lager, and a raw egg = Canadian hangover cure.
